The incredibly popular and relatively new iOS app, Vine, was purchased by Twitter back in January, and until now, has only been available on devices running iOS. Recently, however, a similar version of the iOS app was released for Android users. The Android version isn’t exactly the same as the original iOS version, but, with frequent updates, it will soon match.
Several weeks ago, Twitter launched its new stand-alone video sharing app, Vine. Unlike traditional videos that can be created using apps like Viddy or Socialcam, Vine allows users to capture six seconds of looping, automatically-edited video on their phone. The results often look like animated GIFs, which are experiencing a resurgence in popularity, and can be shared with friends across Twitter and Facebook.
