Canadian Government Picks Drupal CMS

Canadian Government Picks Drupal CMS

November 28th, 2012

Drupal is becoming the go-to CMS for businesses, companies, and groups who require flexibility. According to a recent article on the Ottawa Business Journal, the Statistics Canada and Health Canada online government portals are built on Drupal because of its flexibility, adaptability, and the way in which it can seamlessly incorporate the bilingual requirements for Canadian federal websites.

Reporter Christopher Smith writes on the subject, praising Drupal for its adaptability and rich support community. Says Smith,

There is rarely a problem or issue that can't be solved via group consensus, making it a reliable choice for programmers and developers. The goal of the platform is not to turn a profit, per se; the goal is to create a flawless and exceptionally fluid programming environment/platform. Drupal's complexity, at least to the beginning user, enables it to act as a solid platform while always being adaptable to frequently unforeseen needs.

In addition to the Canadian organizations, Drupal is in use by embassies, parliaments, governmental portals, police, monarchies, and ministries in over 150 countries.
