Amazon Payments, a subsidiary of Amazon.com, announced this past Thursday a new way for online shoppers to authorize purchases without a username and password. The process is called PayPhrase, and it is an effort to simplify e-commerce and boost the appeal of its online payment platforms to merchants. With this new system, online shoppers can complete the checkout process using their Amazon preferred payment and shipping settings without sharing payment information across multiple websites.
This is wonderful news for the mental state of online shoppers. In a world where every website requires a unique username and password, it can be very difficult and frustrating to remember your login, let alone two dozen of them.
