CHANGE: Making All the Difference Since 13,700,000,000 BCE

To some, change might seem arbitrary and ridiculous. When it comes to conversion optimization, however, change is vital and a continually evolving process of making your site better. It’s no secret that many people are resistant to change and the reactions to changes run the gamut of emotions: from easy-going to adamantly stubborn to raving furious. However, in order to make your site successful, constantly looking for things to change will pay off in the long run.

So what is the secret sauce? The magic spell that will make all the difference with a smooth transition??

Two words: “Hard work.”

DON’T STOP READING YET! It’s not as bad as it sounds! It’s actually quite fulfilling once you get going - quite like a Spring Cleaning!

So grab your dustpan and let’s get started!

Step 1: Make Like Darwin and Spot the Change

You’ve looked at your Google Analytics and you’ve noticed that your “Daily Poll” isn’t getting as much action as you’d like. Now that you’ve spotted your thing to change, what are you going to do? Change it, duh!

Step 2: Find a Better Outfit and Change Into It

A better “outfit” could be a new location on your site, a new design for your object of change, or simply a better version of what it was before! Sometimes the change could mean removing it altogether. What ever the case, things have to be improved by making the change.

Step 3: Spin It

Now that you’ve made the change, don’t do anything except spin the change in a positive light! Promote it, point it out, dedicate a blog post about it - just talk about it as if it was the best thing since slight bread. But don’t come off thick.

Now that you’ve made a change or changes to your site, maybe you can make a little extra change! And if that changes things for you, consider making more changes to make more change. Change is good!
