Vine Now Available on Android

June 10th, 2013

The incredibly popular and relatively new iOS app, Vine, was purchased by Twitter back in January, and until now, has only been available on devices running iOS. Recently, however, a similar version of the iOS app was released for Android users. The Android version isn’t exactly the same as the original iOS version, but, with frequent updates, it will soon match.

Vine isn’t only for high schoolers trying to make viral videos though. Brands, marketers, and politicians have taken to using the video-sharing app to promote.  Additionally, the major Hollywood film Wolverine became the first movie to use Vine to promote a six-second movie trailer.

Despite the 13 million iOS Vine users, Android users will likely bring a massive following as well to the newly released Android app.  Instagram has many Android users to thank for amassing a million users in 12 hours alone when it launched for their operating system.  A similar situation may very well occur for Vine’s version for Android.  Due to this potential explosion of new users, this bodes well for you or your company in terms of content.  Now, in addition to the pre-existing 13 million iOS users, your awesome Vine content will be readily available to a decently larger audience.
