Trending Tuesday #2: Google's Hot Searches

This seems to be turning into a gossip column, but the search engines don't lie. So, without further adieu, here are today's Hot Google Searches.

1. Dukan diet: “It’s not a fad diet,” said the French author of The Dukan Diet, which was released today across the world. The diet is similar to the Atkins diet, allowing dieters to eat meat but limits other foods.

2. Portal 2: The follow-up to the 2007 video game Portal comes out this week, and people are talking about it. The original sold almost 4 million copies. Will Portal 2 top its predecessor?

3. Evan Rachel Wood: The True Blood actress told the world she’s bisexual. The former girlfriend of Marylin Manson is looking for “whatever”. The steamy coverage is one of Google’s Hot Searches today.

4. Audrina Patridge: The Hills actress has her own show on VH1. Most recently a contestant on Dancing With the Stars, Patridge is a reality TV veteran and is evidently going back for more. We’ll see how long this one lasts.

5. Dr. Oz: America’s TV host-slash-doctor used his expertise to tell the world that Charlie Sheen “needs friends” in this “time of need”. Sheen is in the middle of his Violent Torpedo of Truth Tour and has recently caught a flood of publicity for some provocative comments he made, in addition to being let go from his starring role on Two and a Half Men.
