If you're in marketing, or ever read any blogs about marketing, you've probably heard mention of content curation. Effective digital marketing strategies include content curation as a key component-- so if you aren't curating, or if you don't know what content curation is, this podcast should help.
So what is curation? Put simply, content curation means writing articles about articles. It's simple, really-- in fact, you come into contact with curated content dozens of times a day. Huffington Post, Mashable, and Lifehacker are all prominent content curation sites. But those sites don't just write about articles-- they give it their own spin. So maybe we should revise our definition to, Content curation is regularly finding relevant industry articles and writing about them in a way that adds your own perspective.
Content curation is a valuable marketing strategy because it allows you to build better relationships with your customers, and build up your presence in the search engine results as well. When you curate content as a marketing strategy, you need to do make sure you do so on a regular basis, and that you share the article on your website with a link back to the original source. This is good SEO, and moreover, it's good manners.
