Drupal Association 2010 Elections Calling All Applicants – Do You Have The Chops?

Yesterday, Dries Buytaert announced the upcoming Drupal Association 2010 election on his personal blog. On March 1st, 2010, elections will be held for new Permanent Members to the General Assembly (Applications are due by February 22nd). The General Assembly will then select the Board of Directors, who are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations. I Know You Are But What Am I?

The Drupal Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to help the Drupal community with funding, infrastructure, events (DrupalCons, DrupalCamps), promotions, and distribution. The Association is run by unpaid volunteers that spend a significant amount of time working on Association responsibilities and obligations.

Up For Grabs

Elections are held each year for new board members who aspire to become Directors on the Drupal Association’s Boards and provide leadership and the experience to expand the reach of Drupal. All current Board positions, except the President and Treasury, are up for grabs. This includes Secretary, Legal Officer, Marketing and Communications, Infrastructure Manager, Fundraiser, and Events Manager.

The Chops

he Association is looking for people who excel in marketing, drupal.org webmaster coordination, project management, and (not mentioned on Dries' blog) an instilled passion for all things Drupal. If you are interested in running for a Permanent Member position, the application deadline in February 22nd, 2010.

While Permanent Members don’t have the same responsibilities of board members, they will need to be committed to work for and promote the overall goals and objectives of the Association. Do you think you have the chops to be a Permanent Member of the Drupal Association? If you want to apply, find an existing Permanent Member to support your candidacy.
