No Regrets [Ben's Productivity Podcast]

Live your life with no regrets

Tip of the day: Productivity - make sure you know where you are headed - check in - align with the main purpose in your life.

Hi this is Ben, welcome back the podcast. I want to talk to you about something that I think is really important. In fact, I considered making it the very first thing I recorded a podcast about and that's the idea that you live your life with no second chances and no regrets. That's one of the things that I think really drives me quite a bit is just looking at "am I doing what it is that I really am meant to do? Am I focused on the things that only I can do? Am I having the biggest impact on the world that I possibly can? And am I making decisions that allow me to live without regret?"

My friend Andy puts it sometimes: "At the end of the day, would you have hired yourself based on what you accomplished today?" And sometimes the answer is no, and that's okay. But when the answer is no too many times, it's time to really reevaluate what it is you're doing/working on.

For me, it means staying very focused on what's most important to me, which in my case is my family. But also it means being a leader and really guiding and directing my company to a place where we can have the biggest possible impact on the world. Now this may seem like a strange topic for a podcast that's focused on productivity, but the reality is if you know the direction that you want to go in and you're constantly checking yourself to make sure you're headed in that direction, in the long term, nothing can be more efficient. And nothing can be more effective than making sure that you understand where you're headed and that you live your life with no regrets. And we get this one life; we get no second chances and every day that's gone is gone forever. So, take the time, figure out where it is that you're trying to go and then check in every single day and make sure you're headed in the right direction at the right time.
