Power of Procrastination [Ben's Productivity Podcast]
Using Procrastination Wisely
Tip of the day: Procrastinate wisely.
Hi and welcome back to the two minute productivity podcast...That was my cat stepping on the piano. Thank you, cat.
I just wanted to take a quick moment and talk to you about the power of procrastination. I know this has been talked about before but one of the things you can do that I found to be a very effective method of getting things done very quickly is to procrastinate. Procrastination can be very powerful because it allows you to hone down a fine point on a need. If you have put something off and you know it’s due, you can crank down and get done very quickly.
It’s not something I recommend all the time, but if you have something that-- I’m sorry, I can’t keep a straight face. That’s my cat Mercy. Thank you, cat. I might re-record this podcast.
In any case, with procrastination you have to get a lot done very quickly. So, I have an 8:45 appointment. It is now 8:15 and I have to get three podcasts recorded and done this morning or I will not meet my goal. I just turned on my computer and a mic and started recording. I’m going to get three podcasts recorded.
Sometimes you have to go fast and dirty, but you have to get it done. It has to be complete and not some half done job. Now, if you have something important to do like a sales presentation then of course take your time on it, but if you have things to get done and its ok to compromise quality a little it’s ok to just crank down and get things done.
And that is it for our two minutes.
