The What, Why and How of I-SEO

Launching your website into international waters sounds overwhelming, and, honestly, it can be. But now is not the time to panic. With the right professional assistance, going global with your website is a simple and sweet process.

While your site is getting primped, prepped, and polished for international markets, you can sit back and make the important decisions, like what languages you want to translate to and what markets you want to enter. This simple and sweet process is called International search engine optimization (I-SEO).

Still confused? No worries, this blog post answers the What, Why and How of I-SEO.

What is I-SEO?

When users browse the Web, they prefer to read (and convert) on websites in their own languages. Businesses who translate their websites into the language of each global market they enter will experience significant increases in brand awareness, traffic, leads, sales, conversions, and spend per order.

But merely translating your website into the language isn’t quite enough. You still need to apply all the lessons you’ve learned from your SEO campaign (for your English site) to your new site in, let’s say, French. But what keywords in French do you target for search rankings or paid ads? Did you use correct context, phrasing, expressions and idioms? Contextual style is a whole level of optimization and, unless your French is parfait, you may need some I-SEO l’amour.

Why I-SEO?

Did you know 78% of all Internet users are located in global markets? If your site doesn’t speak the language of even 1% of that slice of pie, you are missing out on more conversions than you can imagine. And that’s a whole lot of pie!

In order to sell your products and services across international borders, your website needs to communicate properly with each global market you wish to enter (Notice the emphasis on properly).

Your website must not only translate well for human traffic to understand your message, but it must also convey its purpose to global search engines as well. With professional I-SEO services, your site has a strong foundation for proper communication with search engines and human traffic.

Enter I-SEO stage right.

How does I-SEO work?

I-SEO is a three-step approach for websites entering global markets:

1) Search engine optimization for your English website for superior search performance.

2) Translate your message with professional translation services for the global markets you wish to enter.

3) Search engine optimize your site in the languages of your targeted global markets.

It’s that simple. And the best part is that – if you hire a professional company to handle your I-SEO – your workload is very light. Not only are you getting SEO for your original website, but you are getting your content translated into the languages you prefer and then SEO for those languages. It’s a win/win if you ask me. (or Double-SEO! What does it mean!?!)

The bottom line for I-SEO is this: if you want to expand your products and services to the global marketplace, do it the correct way. Rank well in all the global search engines you want, with a website that correctly communicates, and get start selling your products and services to people who don’t physically live in the U. S. of A.
