The title tag is quite simply a line of text summarizing what your web page is about. But, it is also much more than that. The title tag serves all of the following functions:

• it tells customers that they are in the right place,


• it is displayed in the browser title bar,


• it holds important keywords so that your page can be properly categorized,


• it is displayed whenever someone bookmarks your site, and


• Search Engines may use the title tag as the heading of the results returned for a search
