SEO Myth: Just Put Keywords in the Metatags and The Search Engines Will Rank You

The Truth: Most Search Engines do not look at the Keyword metatag when indexing your site. Some even use the keywords as a NEGATIVE indicator of what your site is about. If you put a bunch of keywords into your metatags that aren't in your website already then they may consider it keyword stuffing and lower your rank as a result.
