The more the Internet grows, the more websites serve as a marketing tool to draw the potential customers in for the conversion. As more companies search for business online, there is a massive scramble to design websites that are aesthetically pleasing and psychologically comforting. Nearly all companies who hire professionals get an eye-pleasing page that pops, but some businesses don’t carry that consistency over to the color of the site. Most stick to the company colors of the logo, which may have been a standard since 1963. Unfortunately for some, there are some colors that are more “marketable” than others, and their company standard is on the losing end. Google can index Flash. Should you still avoid it?

Google just announced that they are now better able to index Flash. Flash, because it is mostly graphics-based, is typically difficult for the search engines to find. Pretty much any SEO savvy person will tell you to avoid Flash for this reason. Read more »

Do CSS Menus Block Search Engines?

I got an interesting question on one of the lists that I read. How can I tell if my CSS drop-down menus are blocking Google? It seems that another person suggested that CSS menus will hide your site from the search engines.

Well, besides the obvious of creating a sitemap, how could you find out for sure if your CSS menu system is blocking search engine spiders? I thought about it for a few minutes and came up with this:
